Now days everyone loves to travel and explore various cuisines in the world. There’s a certain coolness attached with travelling and everyone roams around with a DSLR camera. Café Wanderlust (as the name suggests) is a travel café. The owners are self-confessed avid travellers and they have put together a place with a lot of heart.

The café has a very nonchalant feel and offers a varied range of delicacies. They have a swing, a hammock, a beanbag and projector screen. There is a little collection of books and several little souvenirs from all over the world. The fridge in the kitchen has travel magnets that I am guessing the owners must have collected. The music played here is mostly good, though I feel the playlist was very random.

The menu is big and it comes on a Samsung tablet, which is fairly innovative. You can go through their App and order, which I think is pretty cool. They have all day breakfast, not just English or French, but Indian as well. Even the Indian is categorized into Amritsar chole Kulche or Jodhpur Mirchi Bada and many such others.

I went there with my friend for breakfast and thankfully it wasn’t too crowded. We ordered:

1) Iced Choco-Oreo Shake

2) Italian Summer Sandwich

3) Spicy Egg with Veggies Crepe

I am not obsessed with Choco-Oreo shake but my friend is and it seems wherever we go, we end up ordering this shake only. I am not complaining because the Shake was super delicious. The quantity of coco was perfect and the chunks of Oreo made the whole shake heavenly.

Italian Summer Sandwich was served with bell pepper salad, hummus and tomato sauce. This is highly recommended. It is made with brown bread, bell peppers and herbs. The sandwich is very tasty and healthy. Although I don’t understand why hummus was served with an Italian sandwich. Nevertheless it tasted good.

Spicy Egg-Veggies Crepe was the highlight of the meal. The egg on the bed of cooked veggies was perfectly poached. It was served with red sauce (concasse sauce) and white sauce. The crepe was finely thin and cooked to perfection.

Disha, the co-owner informed that they are celebrating the café’s birthday week till 15 July. The café will turn one. They have a quiz competition and the winner will get a trip to place of his choice. On Monday they are screening Zindagi Na milegi Dobara and on Thursday the evergreen Andaaz Apna Apna. Wednesday and Friday is their Karaoke night. So there’s a lot coming up at the café. They also have a group of travellers with who organize travel tours.

The bill came up to Rs 657 inclusive of all taxes. Special mention for the staff member Raju (the service guy). He smiles every time you call him and has a very amusing hand action when he serves.

The café has scope to improve their dessert counter and enhance their presentation.

Nevertheless, the visit to Café Wanderlust was quite a delight.

Walk in to share your travel story.
